The University of Basel, Switzerland's oldest university founded in 1460, has deep roots in the economically powerful and culturally rich Basel region. In research, the university excels in life sciences, physics, nanoscience, computer science and bioengineering. The university works closely with domestic and international partners in academia but also industry to make relevant contributions to the advancement of the sciences and society and increasingly focuses on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
