Wolverhampton City Council - Universal Services
- You will only need to book tickets for your child/ren.
- At the Stay & Play sessions run by the Universal Service Practitioners we strive to promote play opportunities for the children who attend. Play is vital for children’s learning and it also supports their wellbeing and promotes social skills. By attending sessions children are able to begin to be prepared for their journey into nursery/school, thus support school readiness. Stay & Play sessions allow children to opportunity to explore and experience a variety of age-appropriate toys and to engage in fun activities in a safe environment.
- By attending sessions parents/carers can gain support and advice from the lead practitioner and peers, regarding their children learning and development from an early stage.
- Children’s speech and language development can be supported during Stay & Plays through play, conversation and by joining in the story & rhymes times at the end of the sessions.
- Stay & Play sessions also support parents in becoming their child’s first educator, as parents/carers are able to gain activity ideas and learn more on how play can support all areas of a child’s development.
