UKRI Interdisciplinary Textiles Circularity Centre

UKRI Interdisciplinary Textiles Circularity Centre

The UKRI Interdisciplinary Textiles Circularity Centre envisions a future circular textiles economy for the UK SME apparel-fashion industry based on producing high value textiles from bio waste.

The TCC is underpinned by:

  • innovations in textiles manufacturing and design for a circular bioeconomy;
  • consumer experience design that gives citizens agency to participate in the circular economy;
  • open access to circular textiles through supply chain design and technology.

The Textiles Circularity Centre (TCC) is led by the Royal College of Art, and partners with the University of Leeds, Cranfield University, University of Cambridge, University College London, University of Manchester, and the University of York.

The TCC is funded by the UK Research & Innovation NICER programme (National Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Research), coordinated by the Circular Economy Hub.
