Janelle Murphy
Janelle was born and raised in Auckland City, and brings a unique blend of Māori and Irish heritage, with Te Rarawa and Ngati Tūwharetoa being her main tribal affiliations. Her journey in the world of arts began early on, as she delved into studies for performing arts at the Universal College of Learning, complemented by examinations at Trinity College in London for Jazz and Operatic singing.
Janelle's passion for the arts, literature, and music has deep roots, cultivated during her formative years as a soloist, Kapa haka group leader, and local theatre member.
A dedicated writer and philanthropist, Janelle wears multiple hats in the artistic realm. Not only will she serve as the Project Manager for the exhibition, but she is also the visionary concept creator behind the exhibit and its accompanying publication, showcasing the diverse artworks.
Beyond her contributions to the arts, Janelle is a devoted mother of nine adult children and a proud grandmother of fifteen, embodying a rich tapestry of family values. Currently residing in Auckland City, she extends her expertise as a Security Consultant to art galleries, large retailer chains, and events centres across the city, ensuring the safeguarding of valuable cultural assets. With her extensive background and commitment to the arts, Janelle brings a wealth of experience, and a passion for fostering artistic talent in New Zealand.
