Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club
The Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing waterfront access and education about our estuary and shoreline neighborhoods. Our events include on-water events and shoreline activities on the Gowanus Canal, with occasional voyages to neighboring waterfront communities of Red Hook, Sunset Park and Brooklyn Heights.
Since 1999, the Dredgers have empowered people to care for the Gowanus Canal through advocacy, conservation, and education — as well as playful and creative activities. We encourage an understanding of the NY-NJ harbor as a resource for recreation by including dance, theater, music, and literary events as part of our regular lineup.
