Print tickets with a Star printer and the Eventbrite Organizer App

If you have a Star printer, connect it to the Eventbrite Organizer app. Then use the app to print tickets for attendees. To get started, download the ​​​​​​Eventbrite Organizer app. If you don't have a printer yet, purchase one from Eventbrite's retail partners.

Set up the Star printer.

1. What you'll need to get started:

  • An iOS (14.0 and up) or Android (5.0 and up) device

  • A Star printer (available from Eventbrite's retail partner)

  • A wireless router connected to the internet

  • An ethernet cable

2. Connect the printer to a router.

Use the ethernet cable to connect your printer to your router.

3. Test the printer.

Plug the printer in. Then hold the "Feed" button and turn the printer on. Keep holding "Feed" until the printer prints device settings and network configuration.

If you receive a No host connection error message, make sure the ethernet cable is plugged in securely. Then turn off the printer and waiting a few minutes before trying again.

Connect the printer to your device.

1. Connect your device to the same network as your printer.

2. Open the Eventbrite Organizer app and select your event.

Log in using your Eventbrite email address and password.

3. Go to the app settings.

Select the icon at the top left. Then tap Settings (iOS) or Device settings (Android).

4. Connect the printer.

To connect your printer:

  1. Select "Printer setup".

  2. Turn on printing.

  3. Tap your Star printer under "Discovered printers" (iOS) or "Available" (Android).

  4. Select "Connect" (iOS) or "Ok" (Android).

5. Adjust your printing settings.

Select the printer (iOS) or tap the gear icon (Android) to forget your connected printer or see other customization options.

6. Change your default delivery method.

The Delivery method is how attendees receive tickets they buy. If you set the delivery method to Print now, the printer will automatically print a ticket after purchase.

To adjust the default delivery method (iOS):

  1. Go to "Settings.

  2. Select "Delivery method".

  3. Under "Default", choose your preferred method.

To adjust the default delivery method (Android):

  1. Go to "Printing and delivery".

  2. Scroll down to "Choose delivery method".

  3. Using the two-line icon, drag your preferred delivery method to the top.

Print tickets for attendees.

— Print existing orders.

To print a ticket from an already-created order:

  1. Go to "Orders".

  2. Tap the order you want to print.

  3. Select "Print".

  4. Confirm the ticket(s) you want to print, then select "Print".

You can find Orders from the menu at the bottom (iOS) or the top-left menu (Android).

— Print tickets when selling.

If the delivery method is set to Print now when you sell a ticket, the order will automatically print. You can also select Print after any completed order to print it.

— Printing will call tickets.

You can give attendees a "will call" option when you create tickets. To enable this option:

  1. On the Eventbrite website, go to Manage my events and select your event.

  2. Go to "Tickets".

  3. Select your ticket type.

  4. Click "Advanced settings"

  5. Check "Will call".

  6. Save your changes.

If attendees choose "will call" during checkout, they won't receive a digital ticket. Instead, you'll be able to print out these tickets to hand out before your event. To print will call tickets:

  1. Open the app and go to the Dashboard.

  2. Scroll down to "Will call" and tap "Print tickets".

  3. Review your options and tap "Print".

Troubleshooting

— Problems connecting

If you can't connect to the printer, there could be a problem with the connection.

  1. Make sure your router is connected to the internet.

  2. Make sure your device is connected to the same network as your printer.

  3. Unplug and reinsert the ethernet cord into the printer.

  4. Power cycle the printer (turn it off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it on again).

  5. Wait a few minutes for the printer to connect.

— Problems with the hardware
