Organizing an event

Refund orders with the Organizer app

Provide full or partial refunds to your attendees onsite with the Eventbrite Organizer app. Log into the app and go to “Orders”. Then select the order and tap “Refund”. For card purchases, you need to wait up to 24 hours for transactions to settle. Refunds for card purchases should return within 5 business days in the U.S. (7 days outside of the U.S.), depending on the card provider or bank.

1. Check this before you start:

☑️ Eventbrite Organizer is compatible with iOS versions 14.0 or later and Android 5.0 and up.

☑️ Ticketing Fees are nonrefundable except for refunds related to cancellations, postponements, duplicate charges, or COVID-19. If you want to cover the Ticketing Fees from your payout, issue a refund on the Eventbrite website.

☑️ For card transactions, your event must use Eventbrite Payment Processing, and you must have funds in your payout. If you’ve already received your funds, issue a refund on the Eventbrite website instead.

2. Go to your event.

First, download Eventbrite Organizer and log into your Eventbrite account. Then, select your event.

To change events, tap the three-dots (iOS) or the menu (Android) at the top left corner.

3. Tap “Orders”.

For Android users, first tap the menu in the top-left. Then select Orders.

4. Find and select the order.

Scroll through the attendee list, search by order details, or scan tickets to find the order. Then tap on it to select it.

Search by:

  • Last name

  • Ticket buyer's email address

  • Order number

  • Last 4 digits of the debit or credit card used to pay

5. Tap "Refund".

6. Select tickets and tap "Next".

Select All tickets or choose specific tickets. If you have the tickets in front of you, tap the scan icon (top-right) to select those tickets by scanning them.

7. Select your refund options and tap “Next”.

Choose from the following options:

  1. Refund to the original payment method or issue a credit for a future event ($USD only).

  2. Choose a refund reason. Ticketing Fees are automatically refunded for refunds related to event cancellations, event postponements, duplicate charges, or COVID-19.

  3. Select full or partial refund. For free orders, you must select full refund.

  4. Set an expiration date (credit only).

8. Select "Process Refund".

Review your refund details to confirm they are correct. Select “Back” to make changes.

The cardholder’s bank or credit card company processes refunds within 5 business days in the U.S. (7 days outside of the U.S.). Send offline payments (like cash or check) directly to the attendee.
