Tangible Intelligence: Making the Invisible Visible

Tangible Intelligence: Making the Invisible Visible

Via Astino, 16Bergamo, Lombardia
Friday, Feb 27 from 5 pm to 8 pm
Overview

Tangible Intelligence asks and explores new ideas to: Why are we still talking to the world’s most advanced AI through a tiny chat bot?

The exhibition Tangible Intelligence asks a simple question: Why are we still talking to the world’s most advanced AI through a tiny chat box? The students of the Interaction Design Programme, a year long intensive course at CIID, have taken on this challenge in their Tangible User Interface class led by Massimo Banzi and Jose Chavaria.

The objects that the students have designed move away from glowing screens and evolve towards a world where artificial intelligence lives in the objects we touch, move, and hold. Their designs allow us to explore smaller moments of our lives with a new perspective, exploring time and music through tarot readings, using feelings and moods to select music or creating bedtime stories through images. All these projects move beyond "tech" and propose tools that feel human, purposeful, and alive.

The exhibition is free and open to all. We hope to see you there for some inspiration, along with an Italian style aperitivo.

This exhibition is part of the Tangible User Interface class of the Interaction Design Programme at CIID, a one year programme. The programme is open to people from all professional backgrounds with an interest in innovation, digital technologies and design for better futures. Applications are open for the 2026 and 2027 cohorts. Find out more here.
