About this event

Silvers is a project of dinners hosted by the senior generation. To give people access to the authentic stories and knowledge of senior people. Based in Copenhagen.

Every Silvers Dinner is hosted by someone who has lived a full life (leading companies, writing stories, building communities, sailing the ocean, raising families, creating movements, travelling around the world) and wants to share what they have learned through time.

Now, they open their homes for a few guests at a time to share a homemade meal and life inspiration.

This next dinner takes place at Mette’s home filled with books, and art collected from around the world. The theme of the evening is Being a World Citizen, based on Mette's life experieince of culture, identity, movement, and the personal meaning of home.

About Mette

Mette is a writer, and self-proclaimed world citizen with Danish blood in her veins and the world in her heart. She has spent her life moving between countries, collecting experiences, perspectives, and art from every corner of the world.

For over 45 years, she has worked across cultures, mentoring others, building communities, and guiding people in self-expression through writing.

She is passionate about aesthetics, deep conversations, and the connections that form when people share their stories. She believes that “home is not a place, but something you carry with you wherever you go.”

Short answer: EVERYONE. Long answer: Silvers dinners are hosted by seniors, and attended by people across all ages and backgrounds. Locals, Danish, Internationals, curious visitors, tourists, friends, parents and their kids: anyone who wants to access the knowledge of senior humans.

What is the language for the dinners? Danish or English?

The hosts speak both Danish and English. So the language of the dinner always depends on the group who joins: sometimes all English speakers, sometimes more Danish speakers. The balance is always found in an easy way so that everyone at the table can easily communicate.
