Paradox of Progress

UNYA Denmark is a youth-led (15-35 y.o.) non-profit organization that works to promote and raise awareness amongst youth about the United Nations, as well as UN-affiliated causes, values, and issues. UNYA is a place where empathetic, passionate youth can show up, engage, and learn about the world through the lens of global development. The aim is to enable the youth with ideas on how to improve the state of the world or support those who do. At UNYA, young people are provided with the right tools to impact their local community and to give voice to their opinions.As the Gender Equality Working Group of UNYA Copenhagen, we aim to raise awareness for the goals and implications of SDG 5. We are doing this through advocacy as well as planning relevant projects, events, and workshops that touch upon topics related to SDG 5 and its objectives.

Or is the ideal of an equal and safe society just a Nordic illusion?Join us for #Paradox of Progress - an interactive forum unpacking gender-based violence in the Nordic context.Through a panel discussion, we will unite perspectives from gender politics, activism and social innovation. Experts in the field will unpack misconceptions, challenges, and highlight active initiatives paving the way forward to a safer and more equal society in the Nordics and beyond.Alongside the panel, we will have some space for snacks, drinks and reflections.
