Ocean in Motion: A Collaborative Performance
Experience the ocean through contemporary dance, live music, and science in this immersive collaborative performance.
A Collaborative Performance by Boston Dance Theater and Musicians from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)
Presented as part of the 2026 WHOI Science Stroll
Ocean in Motion is a unique collaboration between Boston Dance Theater and scientist-musicians from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), celebrating the beauty, rhythm, and power of the ocean.
Inspired by swirling eddies, ocean currents and waves, the performance blends contemporary dance, live chamber music, and scientific storytelling into an immersive artistic experience. Performed by both professional artists and active ocean scientists, it offers a rare opportunity to experience science through the arts.
Whether you're passionate about science, the arts, or simply curious about the ocean, Ocean in Motion invites you to spend an inspiring lunchtime where research and creativity come together.
