Step back to where photography begins — the pure act of seeing.

In this session, rediscover the essentials of capturing, where every frame is intentional and every image tells a story.

Guided by photographer Yafiq Yusman (@yafiqyusman), you will explore the art of slowing down, observing with clarity, and mastering the fundamentals of composition and framing. With his expertise, Yafiq will share how simplicity can unlock new ways of seeing, empowering you to capture the world through your own perspective.

As we celebrate a century of Leica, our Akademie workshops are designed to inspire creativity, nurture mindful observation, and deepen the appreciation of photography. Join us on this journey to reconnect with the art in its purest form — capturing what is authentic and timeless.

Note: This session is open to all camera owners, regardless of brand or system. We encourage you to bring your own camera so you can fully participate in the hands-on activities.

Throughout the session, you’ll gain hands-on experience with Leica systems, applying your skills in real-world settings. This workshop is designed not only to build technical proficiency but also to help you see differently and approach photography as a powerful tool for visual storytelling.

(As a bonus, participants will also have the opportunity to experience shooting through just a viewfinder — a unique way to slow down and engage more mindfully with each frame.)
