Storytelling is more than stories. Today's technologies, new media, communication channels, make it possible to create and implement narratives with a higher impact on the audience.
Klaus Sommer Paulsen invites you to join him for this one-hour introduction to the principles of Integrated Storytelling. Learn about new narratives, audience roles, micro-stories and more to design unique experiences for your audience.
The key topics of the session will include
- How is storytelling different from what it used to be?
- What does it mean to design a story-based experience?
- How does Integrated Storytelling transform digital storytelling, the application of VR technology and experiential marketing?
- What are the audience roles and why should you consider them from the conceptual level?
Furthermore, Klaus will introduce his book Integrated Storytelling by Design: Concepts, Principles and Methods for New Narrative Dimensions.
Published in July 2021 by Routledge, the book "equips you with skills needed to create and design powerful stories and concepts for interactive, digital, multi-platform storytelling and experience design that will take audience engagement to the next level."
After this online session you will have the foundation to take our Integrated Storytelling Fudamentals Course.
This 4-week online course will provide you with theoretical insights and practical methods to understand and work within new narrative dimensions merging storytelling, experience design and new media technology.

The Integrated Storytelling Introduction session will be presented by Klaus Sommer Paulsen, Founder and CEO of AdventureLAB.
Klaus Sommer Paulsen has worked with storytelling and media for more than 30 years, and integrated marketing, digital multimedia and experience design since the mid-1990s. Besides this work, he has trained, lectured and presented talks and keynotes for professionals and students alike. He is in charge of AdventureLAB‘s collaboration with learning institutions, including VIA UC Film & Transmedia in Denmark, where he is chairing the educational committee for the Multiplatform Storytelling & Production (MSP) program. Klaus is currently presenting courses for marketing professionals for the Danish Marketing Association and students at the University of Tartu Pärnu College, Estonia.
He is the author of the book "Integrated Storytelling by Design: Concepts, Principles and Methods for New Narrative Dimensions", published in July 2021 by Routledge.
