EU’s Digital Finance Strategy

About this Event
The European Commission launched a digital finance package on 24th September 2020 with a wide range of initiatives.
The package includes a digital finance strategy and legislative proposals on crypto-assets and digital cyber resilience and a new strategy for retail payments. The aim is to create a competitive financial sector in the EU that gives consumers access to innovative financial products, while ensuring consumer protection and financial stability.
The Digital Finance Strategy supports the EU's ambition for digital transformation. Digital financial services can play an important role in modernizing the European economy across sectors and making Europe a global digital player.
Relevance
The meeting will provide an opportunity to update and debate EU work on Digital Finance and chip in with relevant inputs to Copenhagen Fintech Policy.
The following questions will be discussed:
- What challenges and opportunities are provided with a European digital financial strategy for the established financial sector and the FinTech industry in Denmark?
- How do we ensure the EU's competitiveness and sovereignty in digital finance?
- What are the key elements in the strategy?
- We will also discuss open finance, eID, bigtech, fintech and payments.
The organizer behind this event is Copenhagen FinTech Policy, which consists of the organizations The Confederation of Danish Industry, Finance Denmark, The Financial Services Union Denmark and Copenhagen Fintech.
