On the first Wednesday of each month at 13:00–14:00 (CET) / 12:00–13:00 (UK time), Ulrik Bak Kirk and Linda Huibers host the Digital Primary Care Learning Lunch webinar series together with Rebecca Payne from Oxford. Each month features a selected topic with two invited speakers, followed by an open plenary discussion. The focus is on all aspects of digital primary care.

⚠️ Please note: Due to confusion about the time, the meeting on the 3rd of September has unfortunately been cancelled. We sincerely apologize for this and invite you instead to join the rescheduled session on Wednesday, October 1st, 13:00–14:00 (CET) / 12:00–13:00 (UK time), with the same program as originally planned.

Program for October 1st: This webinar will feature two talks and is chaired by Ulrik Bak Kirk.

  • Presentation by Veronika Slemenšek
  • Presentation by Rebecca Payne

Veronika Slemenšek will present her PhD work on early sepsis recognition, and Rebecca Payne will share insights on digital care in rural and remote areas.

Veronika Slemenšek is a resident in Emergency Medicine in Slovenia and a PhD student focusing on improving early recognition and management of sepsis, a life-threatening condition that remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Her project, “Development of a digital tool for early sepsis recognition in pre-hospital Emergency Medicine in Slovenia”, aims to support emergency services in detecting sepsis earlier. In her presentation, she will outline the research background, objectives, and expected outcomes.

Rebecca Payne is a clinical academic and remote island GP whose work explores the intersection of primary care and technology. Drawing on her experiences in Alaska and Australia, she will discuss digital care in rural contexts. Alongside her research, she continues to practice in the Orkney Islands as a rotational GP.

The webinar takes place on October 1st, 13:00–14:00 (CET) / 12:00–13:00 (UK time) on Zoom. We look forward to an inspiring meeting and exciting discussions!
