Description
Initiated by NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) and CLIZ in collaboration with Leica, “CAREmmunity of Cats” is a community-driven project that celebrates the role of thoughtful design in fostering connections between people and community cats.
As part of Singapore Design Week, visitors are invited to explore the emotional realities of community cats and the people who care for them. Through interactive installations, storytelling, and immersive experiences, the exhibition demonstrates how design can spark empathy, inspire meaningful dialogue, and foster stronger communities.
The opening of the exhibition will take place at the Outdoor Atrium of Leica Store South Beach Quarter, where the installation will be on display.
Highlight of the Session
- Official Opening & Panel Discussion
Three partners will share insights from the design process, sparking conversations about care, creativity, and how thoughtful design can strengthen community connections.
A short documentary about the installation will be screened, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the design process and sharing the stories of community cats and their carers.
Guests can engage with the on-site installation and participate in origami creation, making their own origami cats to leave encouraging messages as part of the exhibition experience.
About the Project
Created by NAFA, this exhibition aims to raise awareness about community cats and their carers. The centerpiece is a 2-meter-tall installation inspired by the iconic CLIZ cat bottle, crafted from recycled materials in line with the brand’s Eco-4Rs sustainability ethos, and made locally.
To support the cause, 5% of net proceeds from sales of CLIZ’s cat-shaped bottles will be donated to the Cats Welfare Society, helping to care for and support community cats across Singapore.
