The BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food is presenting this On-Farm Composting Field Day in the Cariboo region. Join knowledgeable experts at Puddle Produce Farm in Soda Creek to learn practical hands-on information on topics such as:

  • How to properly site and construct a compost pile,
  • How to use compost as a replacement for synthetic fertilizer,
  • The benefits of compost for soil health and fertility,
  • How to determine application rates, timing, and method when using compost,
  • Information on soil testing and how to interpret soil test results,
  • Regulatory considerations of on-farm composting.

Lunch will be provided after the session.

Space will be limited to the first 20 registrants.

How do I get to Puddle Produce Farm?

Attendees coming from Williams Lake should exit Highway 97 at the Soda Creek Townsite Road. The farm will be on the left approximately 11 km down the road. Attendees coming from Quesnel should exit Highway 97 at Soda Creek MacAlister Road and the farm will be on the right in approximately 8.5 km.

Is the venue outdoors or indoors?

We will be completing the entirety of the session outdoors at the farm. Please dress according to weather conditions.
